Pounamu refers to greenstone (Jade) from the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand.  There are several types:

• Kawakawa: The most common type, with a rich, dark green color.

• Kahurangi: A prized variety, the lightest and most translucent green.

• Inanga: A soft, pearly greyish color, named after the whitebait fish.

• Tāhitahi: A rare and highly prized, intensely green stone with a striking "snowflake" effect.

As Pounamu is only found in New Zealand and, as much as I would like to get there more often, it's not very available here in the U.S.  The source of each slab can be found in the description.
